Water Treatment
Since 1966, Stutzman Services has been managing drinking water for people throughout the Willamette Valley. Whether you get water from a well on your property or your city’s water supply, we can design, install and maintain a treatment system that will provide clean, safe drinking water for years to come.
There's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all water treatment system. After a comprehensive analysis of your water, we will design a customized, cost-effective treatment system and maintenance plan to provide you with the best water quality possible. And our upfront pricing means you can relax as we work, knowing precisely what you're going to pay to get the job done right.
Our Drinking Water
Our region's domestic drinking water comes from one of two places: Either surface water sources (lakes or rivers) or groundwater sources (wells). Many municipalities draw from surface water sources and then treat the water to meet Federal minimum standards. But even this "city water" can be improved by, for example, removing chlorine before consumption. And while it may appear crystal clear, groundwater supplied by a well can also be improved by a water softener, filter or sterilizer which will eliminate unwanted odors, tastes, staining and microorganisms.
Water Softener
When hard well water is treated with a water softener, concentrations of minerals such as calcium and magnesium are removed or greatly decreased. The resulting soft water extends the lifetime of plumbing pipes, fixtures and appliances. It is also more compatible with soap, and will not leave that familiar and unsightly white scale buildup.
Iron & Sulfur Removal
Identified by its rusty, red-colored stain and buildup, iron can be found in well water in several forms, each of which requiring a different treatment method. The "rotten egg" odor that is commonly attributed to sulfur in well water is actually caused by a contamination of hydrogen sulfide, a colorless gas that results from an excess of bacteria in groundwater which use sulfur as an energy source. We can remove these contaminates from your well water, greatly improving its quality and odor.
Water Disinfection
Dangerous microorganisms that can inhabit well water, such as E. coli and Coliform, can be destroyed with a Ultraviolet (or UV) sterilizer. By using a UV light source in the well water system, this water disinfection method is safe, effective, chemical-free, cost effective and wastes no water in the process.
Chlorine Removal
Chlorine is a chemical element placed into water systems by municipalities to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Though Chlorine does disinfect water and provides citizens with a safe water supply, we recommend that the chemical and its byproducts be removed before consumption or exposure which happens by drinking water or inhaling steam while bathing.
